Château Brane-Cantenac white wine Margaux is a rare wine born from a unique micro-terroir.

A MAGNIFICENT EXPRESSION OF A MICRO-TERROIR IN THE HEART OF MARGAUX

Producing a great white wine at Château Brane-Cantenac, in the Margaux appellation, may come as a surprise. Yet this idea is the result of long and thoughtful consideration by Henri Lurton, a winemaker at heart, and his team, following the discovery of a 3-hectare micro-terroir.

This soil, more clay-based than the surrounding gravelly plots, inspired the desire to craft a great Bordeaux white wine. As a result, in 2019, the estate produced its very first Brane-Cantenac Blanc, a dry white wine.

“We conducted soil studies and had extensive discussions with our technical teams. It is a single, continuous plot, but with a certain variability in its soils.

We selected different clones of Sauvignon Blanc, along with a small proportion of Sémillon, and adapted the winemaking process to these micro-terroirs through parcel-by-parcel vinification. It is both highly artisanal and extremely technical.”

A LIMITED PRODUCTION, EXCLUSIVELY DISTRIBUTED BY TWINS

The result is truly compelling: an elegant and precise wine, revealing aromas of white fruits and citrus, supported by a subtle tension and remarkable roundness. A wine that can be enjoyed beautifully today, yet also promises to deliver great emotions in the years to come.

Henri Lurton has entrusted Twins with the distribution of Brane-Cantenac Blanc, this great Bordeaux white wine. For this limited-production wine, the Bordeaux wine merchant adopts a tailored approach to optimize its global distribution.

“A small production does not mean a simplified distribution. On the contrary, at Twins, we are committed to building a tailor-made distribution for this remarkable Brane wine.

The idea is to create the widest possible distribution, working with partners who can convey its DNA and unique character all the way to the end consumer. One of our key targets is the restaurant sector, through passionate sommeliers who will know how to showcase it.”

Brane-Cantenac Blanc is the fourth wine produced at Château Brane-Cantenac. It joins the estate’s flagship wine Château Brane-Cantenac, as well as Baron de Brane and Margaux de Brane, the three red wines from the Margaux appellation.
